WHAT YOU ACTUALLY GET IN A $599 WEBSITE (AND WHO IT'S RIGHT FOR)
"Is $599 the real number, or is that the number before the add-ons?"
Fair question. Website pricing is famously vague, and most of us have been burned by a quote that grew legs. So here is the whole thing, laid out, no asterisks.
WHAT THE MINI SITE INCLUDES
The mini Squarespace site is five sections: Home, About, Services, FAQs, and Contact. You can add a location map if customers need to find you in person.
That is it. Five sections, built and live in two to three days.
It sounds small until you look at how people actually use a small business website. They want to know what you do, whether you are legitimate, what it costs, and how to reach you. Five well-built sections answer all four. Twenty sections mostly answer them again, more slowly.
WHO IT'S RIGHT FOR
The mini site is the right call if you are:
Just launching, and you need to look real before you need to look big
A service business with one clear offer
Currently sending people to an Instagram profile and hoping for the best
Sitting on a site you built yourself in 2019 that you now avoid looking at
The through line: you need presence, not architecture.
WHEN YOU SHOULD SPEND MORE
I would rather talk you into the right thing than the cheap thing, so here is when to skip the mini.
Go with the full build at $1,200 if you need a blog. Blog integration is where the SEO work lives, and it is not something to bolt on later if you already know you want it. The full build also gives you up to seven pages, which matters when you have multiple distinct services that each deserve their own page and their own search traffic.
Rough rule: one offer, mini site. Three offers you want found separately, full build.
THE PART NOBODY BUDGETS FOR
Photos.
A beautifully built site filled with stock images of strangers at a conference table reads as generic in about two seconds. Real photos of you, your space, and your work are the single biggest difference between a site that converts and a site that just exists.
This is the reason I do both. If you need images too, we shoot first and build second, so the design gets made around your actual photos instead of the other way around. I can offer you a special deal if you choose to do both!
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER LAUNCH
Sites go stale. Prices change, services shift, that event page from March is still up in October.
If you would rather not think about it, monthly maintenance is $30 and covers new blog posts, updated events and product descriptions, and clearing out anything past its date. If you would rather handle it yourself, Squarespace makes that reasonable, and I will show you how before we part ways either way.
SO, WHICH ONE
If you have one service and need to look credible by next week, the mini site does that for $599 in two to three days.
If you are building for search traffic and have more than one thing to sell, spend the $1,200 and get the blog.
And if you are not sure, tell me what your business does and I will tell you which one I would build. I have talked plenty of people down to the smaller package.
